Acknowledgement of Country

We recognise and pay respect to the First Nations Peoples of the lands, seas and rivers of Australia. We pay our respects to Elders past, present and emerging, and aspire to learn from traditional knowledges and customs. We recognise that First Nations’ Countries were never ceded and express remorse for the injustices and inequities that First Nations of Australia and the Torres Strait Islands continue to endure since colonisation. We live, work and play on the meeting place of the Gadigal and Wangal people of the Eora Nation.

Climate Reporting Capabilities.

Why they matter now

emissions, steam, smoke, chimney, environment, smog, pollution, industry, climate, fog, ruhr area, emissions, emissions, emissions, emissions, emissions

The business environment is shifting fast, shaped by regulatory changes, climate-related risks, investor scrutiny, and evolving customer expectations. Mandatory climate reporting, the latest regulatory change in Australia will come into effect in three phases as follows:

  • Group 1 (Reporting started 1 January 2025): Large organisations that exceed $500 million revenue, $1B asset, or 500 employee thresholds, or that already report significant emissions under Australia’s greenhouse reporting scheme (NGER).
  • Group 2 (First reporting period is FY27): Mid-sized companies meeting moderate thresholds for revenue ($200M), assets ($500M), or staff (250), or managing large-scale assets and energy footprints.
  • Group 3 (First reporting period is FY28): Smaller businesses that are growing in scale, with sufficient revenue ($50M), assets ($25M), or workforce (100) to make climate disclosures meaningful, or already exceeding NGER reporting levels.

Acting now, Group 2 can build the capabilities that drive tangible business value -reducing costs, strengthening customer loyalty, and enhancing resilience. For Group 3, early development of climate reporting capabilities can turn readiness into a competitive advantage as Groups 1 and 2, whose reporting and decarbonisation requirements begin to shape supply chains, investment decisions, and strategic partnerships.
